The restaurant scene in Bacolod City has never been more dynamic than in recent years. New restaurants are mushrooming all over the city. One can hardly keep up trying each one of them. Just before Christmas of 2016, Bacolod folks had another new restaurant to patronize with the opening of Juliana’s Cafe & Resto.

Juliana’s is elegantly decorated and the table arrangement is just right and not crowded. The lighting contributed to the nice ambiance. It is just a little over a month old but the service is already very good.

The restaurant is not only a nice place for lunch or dinner but for merienda as well. It serves popular Filipino dishes and steaks. For merienda, it has sandwiches and noodles.

The prices are reasonable and the servings generous. Many of the dishes can be shared. I went to Juliana’s with three friends. We ordered four dishes and shared so we can try each one. We were so full that we did not order desserts anymore. One of the bestsellers is the Juliana’s Sizzling Duck but since one of my friends does not eat duck, we did not order. I will try it on my next visit.

The Ox Tongue with Mushroom was delicious. It was tender and the ox tongue itself was tasty and not just because of the sauce.

The Boneless Chicken Steak was nice. Not having tried any chicken steak before, I was initially doubtful but it turned out to be flavorful and the meat was juicy. It came with gravy.

I like the Sizzling Squid. It was soft and cooked just right.

The Crispy Pata was nice but I prefer the sauce to be more of a sweet and sour taste. A little more vinegar would have been nicer. It was tender though even with the meat portion without fats.

The restaurant has two function rooms at present that can accommodate a maximum of thirty persons each with a minimum consumable charge of P 3,000.00. One of the function rooms is inside the restaurant while the other one is adjacent to the restaurant which has more privacy.
