Tonight, January 31, 2018, a very rare phenomenon of a super blue blood moon will occur. It starts at around 5:30 am Eastern Time. In the Philippines, it is around 6 pm.

The super blue blood moon is special because it is a rare convergence of three celestial events. The second full moon of the calendar month called the blue moon is at a closer point to Earth thus making it appear bigger and shines brighter than usual. This second event is called super moon. The super blue moon passes through the shadow of Earth, a total lunar eclipse, giving it a reddish tint thus giving it the name of blood moon.

A live feed of the super blue blood moon will be offered by NASA TV and NASA.gov/live.

Go out later and watch this rare celestial event
